Authors retain copyright in their articles. JACR does not require, and does not accept, a transfer of copyright. By publishing with JACR an author grants the journal only a non-exclusive right of first publication.
1. Who owns what

2. What authors grant the journal
An author grants JACR a non-exclusive licence to publish the article, to identify itself as the original publisher, to produce and distribute the version of record, to deposit metadata with Crossref and indexing services, and to take the preservation measures described in Digital Preservation and Self-Archiving. The grant is non-exclusive: the author remains free to use and license the work elsewhere, subject to the article licence in Licensing.
3. What authors may do with their own article
- Share, deposit, and reuse the submitted, accepted, and published versions for lawful scholarly purposes, without embargo and without asking the journal.
- Reuse their own figures, tables, and text in later work, citing the version of record.
- Include the article in a thesis, a dissertation, or a teaching collection.
- Post the article on a repository, a personal page, or a scholarly network, with a link to its DOI.
In each case the authors should cite the version of record and respect any third-party rights indicated in the article.
4. Warranties given by authors
By submitting, the corresponding author confirms on behalf of all authors that the work is theirs, that it does not infringe the copyright or other rights of any person, that written permission has been obtained for any third-party material reproduced, and that written informed consent has been obtained for any identifiable personal information, as required by the Publication Ethics policy.
5. Website copyright is not article copyright
The copyright notice shown in the site footer applies only to the JACR name, logo, website design, layout, and publisher-owned editorial content. It does not transfer article copyright, and it does not restrict the reuse of an article beyond the licence displayed with that article.
6. Claims of infringement
A rights holder who believes that material published by JACR infringes their rights should write to journalanesthesiology@gmail.com, identifying the article by title and DOI, the material concerned, and the basis of the claim. The journal assesses the claim promptly, may restrict access to the material while it does so, and, where the claim is well founded, publishes a correction or retraction under Corrections, Retractions, and Post-publication Updates.
