Open Access, Copyright, and Licensing

Open Access, Copyright, and Licensing Policy

Archives of The Medicine and Case Reports (AMCR) provides immediate open access to all published content. Articles are freely available upon publication without subscription, registration, reader payment, or embargo.

Open Access

Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full text, and otherwise use articles in accordance with the applicable article license. Access to the version of record is not conditioned on payment or account registration.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright in their articles and grant AMCR the non-exclusive right of first publication and the right to identify itself as the original publisher. Authors retain publishing and repository-deposit rights subject to acknowledgement of the published version.

Default Article License

Unless a different license is stated on an individual article, AMCR articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

  • Attribution: users must credit the authors, article title, AMCR, DOI, and license and indicate changes.
  • NonCommercial: sharing and adaptation are permitted for non-commercial purposes.
  • ShareAlike: adaptations must be distributed under the same license.

Self-Archiving and Third-Party Material

Authors may immediately deposit the published version of record in non-commercial institutional or subject repositories when the original article and DOI are cited and the license is retained. Material credited to a third party may require separate permission when it is not covered by the article license or an applicable legal exception.

Journal Website Copyright

Copyright in the AMCR website, logo, visual identity, database arrangement, layout, and other publisher-owned materials is separate from copyright in individual articles. A website copyright notice does not transfer or restrict author copyright or the rights granted under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
